1. Civil wedding at the Römer in Frankfurt

The Römer is probably the most famous place for a civil wedding in Frankfurt. The historic town hall at the Römerberg is a symbol of the city and a dream location if you love classic architecture and a lively old town atmosphere. On many days several weddings take place there, which gives the place a special energy.

Inside you get married in one of the historic rooms with wooden details, paintings and the well-known “Frankfurter Schrank”. It feels very ceremonial and is impressive for both you and your guests. After the ceremony we usually take family photos in front of the large wooden door and then walk to the new old town, the Römerberg or down to the river Main for couple portraits. Trams, old buildings and the skyline give a lot of variety for your photos.

2. Civil wedding in Frankfurt-Höchst

If you prefer something quieter and more intimate, Höchst is a beautiful alternative for your civil wedding. The old town of Höchst feels like a small village: cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses, the Main river and the small castle — everything is very close together.

After your ceremony we can walk just a few minutes and already have several nice backgrounds: the old city wall, little alleys, the castle courtyard or the river promenade. Many couples also combine their civil wedding in Höchst with a relaxed lunch or coffee with their families nearby. It’s perfect if you want a calm atmosphere, but still with a lot of charm.

3. Civil wedding in the Palmengarten (Haus Rosenbrunn)

The Palmengarten is one of the most special options for a civil wedding in Frankfurt. You get married in the Haus Rosenbrunn, a light and elegant pavilion in the middle of the rose garden. Civil ceremonies there are usually only possible on selected Fridays between May and September, so the dates are limited and very popular.

If you love nature and want to feel like you are in a green oasis while still being in the city, this is the right place. After the ceremony we can use the paths, trees and flower areas around the pavilion for your couple photos. The Palmengarten is ideal for small guest numbers and intimate celebrations.

4. How I photograph civil weddings in Frankfurt

For civil weddings I usually recommend 2–3 hours of coverage. This gives us enough time for:

Arrival of you and your guests
The ceremony and congratulations
Group photos with family and friends
A relaxed couple session nearby

Whether you choose the Römer, Höchst or the Palmengarten — I know the most important spots, the light and the typical time schedule at these locations. My goal is that you don’t have to think about photos at all; you just enjoy your “yes”, and I take care of the rest.

If you’re looking for an English-speaking photographer and videographer for your civil wedding in Frankfurt, feel free to send me a message with your date and Standesamt. I’d be happy to check my availability.
