A windy September day with real emotions
This civil wedding at Schloss Philippsruhe in Hanau took place on a windy day in mid-September. Despite the weather, the atmosphere was calm, emotional and very personal. The historic castle and the surrounding park created a beautiful setting for a relaxed wedding day.
First look in front of Schloss Philippsruhe
The day started with a first look in front of the castle. I always plan this moment a bit earlier so we can take the first photos while the emotions are still fresh.
It is important that the first look does not happen too close to the ceremony, so the couple has time to welcome their guests and connect, especially when many people have travelled a long way.
Photos on the castle staircase
Before the ceremony, it is possible to take photos on the main staircase inside Schloss Philippsruhe. This area offers a timeless backdrop and works perfectly for calm and elegant images.
Civil ceremony inside the castle
After the first look, the civil ceremony took place with the traditional vows and ring exchange. These moments happen only once, which is why I always recommend filming the ceremony as well. Hearing the vows and seeing the ring exchange again later adds another layer to the memories.
Congratulations and champagne reception on the terrace
Once the ceremony ended, guests congratulated the couple with hugs and kind words. Afterwards, everyone moved to the terrace for a relaxed champagne reception and conversations.
Couple shoot in the castle park
To finish the day, we spent some time in the park around the castle for a short couple shoot. Alongside classic portraits, we also captured details and a few creative moments. The peaceful surroundings made this a calm and natural end to the wedding day.
